Call for: Content & Communications Coordinator / Open Think Tank Network

Call for:

Content & Communications Coordinator (1-2 persons): Open Think Tank Network (8-10 hrs/month, volunteer position)

Who are we?

The Open Think Tank Network (OpenTTN) is an international network of grassroots think tanks. We use innovative crowdsourcing methods and participatory structures to provide opportunities for participation in political debates outside of the traditional fora.

We seek to democratize the development of international affairs policies. At this stage, the network consists of four members: foraus in Switzerland, Polis180 in Germany, Agora in the United Kingdom and Ponto in Austria. But informally, the network consists of even more individuals and organizations across the globe. We provide transnational policy collaboration, events, peer learning and community exchange.

Who are we looking for?

To contribute to OpenTTN’s mission and to support its formal institutions, such as its Board of Directors (BoD), we are looking for a team of 1-2 coordinators that are willing to bring the network to the next level. You will work together with both the BoD as well as the current Operations Coordinator. The coordinator function is unpaid and we expect approximately 8-10 hours of work per month (flexible / remote). The position starts on December 1, 2023 or per agreement.

To support the OpenTTN as an active network with a strong community and international presence, the coordinators focus on two main pillars:

Content Coordination

○ Coordinating a cross-national working group on a strategic policy issue (e.g., digital policy, Europe, Peace & Security)

○ Supporting the organization of OpenTTN events

○ Potentially contributing to OpenTTN publications (e.g., policy briefs)

● Communications Coordination

○ Curating the OpenTTN social media channels

○ Maintaining the OpenTTN website and editing written content

○ Coordinating between the comms departments of all think tanks

What can you expect?

In this volunteering position, you will get a lot of benefits. Firstly, you get access to a unique Europe-wide network of policy entrepreneurs and young professionals in foreign policy and global affairs. Secondly, you can put your ideas into practice and shape activities in a transnational network of like-minded grassroots think tanks. Thirdly, you can participate in retreats and conferences of the OpenTTN network.

Apply now!
